Massive art competition drew in over 6,000 works of digital art with a prize pool of over $60,000. See the winning works of art in each category.

CGTrader, which manages one of the largest 3D art and design communities online, has announced the winners of its Digital Art Competition – an event which set out to bring together digital artists from the 2D and 3D visual fields. The Competition was met great success, as more than 3,500 artists entered the contest.

The Digital Art Competition had six categories split into two groups: illustration and concept art. The two groups were then split into themes: Characters, Environments and Object design, with the latter including abstract works of art.

The Character Illustration category attracted more than a third of all entries – 2,560 works of art. The Competition attracted a total of over 6,500 submissions from more than 3,000 participants.

Every work of art also had the opportunity to win the Public Award by getting the most votes in the competition gallery. CGTrader’s community voted and admired the diversity of digital art, multitude of styles and techniques which showed up in the contest.

‘First, I want to thank more than three thousand participants for sharing their best pieces of art with our community. The Digital Art Competition was a unique challenge for us as well, as it was the first time 2D art was invited into our 3D-focused community. We know how many artists are inspired by other artists’ works across all mediums, and we hope that the Digital Art Competition will bring more digital artists together, no matter which field they work in”’ said Laura Paskauskaite, the organizer of the Competition.
